Dr. David Shockey is an Arizona native who attended Mesa Mountain View High School and graduated from Arizona State University summa cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in Biological Science and Psychology.

Dr. Shockey earned his M.D. from UT Health San Antonio, graduating first in his class. He completed a residency at the University of Arizona in Emergency Medicine and is board certified in Emergency Medicine.

He is a certified Senior Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), currently providing examinations and certifications to pilots. He has a love for wilderness medicine and global health, having traveled to all seven continents and participated in expeditions to Mount Kilimanjaro, Antarctica, Mount Rainier, and Everest Base Camp.

Dr. Shockey has completed research on high-altitude medicine and point-of-care ultrasound. At the clinic, he has been the principal investigator on multiple studies, including weight loss medications, vaccines, and novel cancer screenings.

Periodically he works as a “ringside doc” for professional Mixed Martial Arts events, and serves as an emergency physician in Scottsdale and the East Valley. He has a special interest in achieving peak athletic performance and has completed the Squaw Peak 50 Ultramarathon, the Oceanside Ironman 70.3, and the Rim to Rim to Rim hike in the Grand Canyon.

In his spare time, Dr. Shockey enjoys hiking, pickleball, basketball and flying airplanes; he holds a private pilot certificate.
